When Ford prepared to launch the all-electric F-150 Lightning, one of the truck’s breakthrough promises was its ability to power a home during outages through a process known as Bi-Directional Power.
To make that real, customers needed to install a high-capacity wallbox (Home EV charger), as well as a specific power inverter which often requires panel upgrades, permits, and licensed electricians.
